DC has added more exclusive talent to its pool: Green Lanterns writer Sam Humphries, who will be creating content exclusively for the DC and Vertigo imprints.

Humphries’ first comic book work was published in the CBGB anthology from BOOM! Studios, and he went on to self-publish Our Love is Real and Sacrifice. His work for BOOM! also includes Fanboys vs. Zombies, Higher Earth, and Jonesy. Humphries has also written for Marvel, including multi-issue runs on Avengers A.I., Planet Hulk, Star-Lord, and Uncanny X-Force. Green Lanterns is Humphries first work for DC. His next story arc, “The Phantom Lantern,” kicks off in October.

“We’re very excited to have Sam come to DC,” said DC’s Editor-in-Chief Bob Harras. “Sam is telling human stories that readers are emotionally connecting to, which is what being a Green Lantern is all about.”

Humphries joins Green Lanterns artist Robson Rocha (see “DC Expands Talent Pool”), Wonder Woman artist Liam Sharpe (see “Artist Liam Sharp Signs With DC”), and Detective Comics writer James Tynion IV (see “DC Signs Another Writer to Exclusive Contract”) on DC’s expanding exclusive roster.
