Pixar is shuffling the release dates of two big sequels coming up in the next few years, according to Variety. Incredibles 2, originally scheduled for 2019 (see "'Incredibles 2' Slated for June 21, 2019"), has been moved up to June 15, 2018, replacing Toy Story 4 on Pixar’s schedule. Meanwhile, the fourth movie in the Toy Story series, already delayed once, from 2017 to 2018, will now be pushed back again to the former Incredibles 2 release date, June 21, 2019.
The Incredibles was already fairly far along last year when the news of its original 2019 date was announced, with director Brad Bird reporting that the script was nearly done, with storyboards beginning. And it’s been a long time between films, with Incredibles debuting way back in 2004, 14 years before the sequel.
