Hit Point Sales will be releasing Zero Radius Games’ Pillars of Eternity:  Lords of the Eastern Reach into distribution on March 3.

Set in the fantasy world of Obsidian Entertainment’s computer roleplaying game Pillars of Eternity, Lords of the Eastern Reach is a card game about building and defending cities in a fantasy realm.  Players gather resources, which are used to construct buildings, hire troops, and recruit heroes.  Any resources left unused at the end of the turn, though, must be passed to the other players.

In addition to the city building, players can also send their heroes on adventures, either delving into the dungeon or exploring the wilderness in search of valuable treasures.  Troops can be used to attack the other players’ cities, or kept at home to defend their own.

Pillars of Eternity:  Lords of the Eastern Reach includes 332 cards, 64 tokens, 1 tile, 24 plastic gems, 5 dice, 1 cloth bag, and 1 “ethereal piglet”.  The game was created by Chris Taylor (Lead Designer of Fallout 1) and Scott Everts (Fallout 1 & 2, Planescape:  Torment), and is intended for 1 to 4 players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 1 to 2 hours.  MSRP is $50.00.

Zero Radius funded the production of the game through a Kickstarter campaign in July 2015 that attracted $239,178 in pledged support from 3,724 backers (an average of $64.23 per backer).  Backers received their copies in August and September of last year.
