The show, a more adult take on the Archie characters (see “’Riverdale’ Cast Photos Go Noir”), has also led to a broader deal for Archie properties with Warner Bros. Television (see “Archie Gets Broader Warner Bros. TV Deal”). One potential spin-off would be Josie and the Pussycats, shown below covering the 1977 Donna Summer hit I Feel Love (which was produced by EDM pioneer Giorgio Moroder) in a recent episode.

The Greg Berlanti Archie-based series Riverdale has been given a second season order by the CW, Archie Comics announced. The renewal comes six episodes into the first season. The ratings aren’t huge, but apparently strong enough to earn a vote of confidence. The show is now averaging 1.16 million viewers the first night, but hitting 2 million viewers in live plus 7 ratings, according to TV by the Numbers.
