Steamforged Games is offering retailers the Kickoff! Launch Kit to support its fantasy football miniatures game Guild Ball: Kick Off! The kits will release in June with the next wave of Kickoff! products.
ICv2 spoke with Steamforged Games’ Kelsey Fox at the recent GAMA Trade Show in Las Vegas, who explained the theory behind the Launch Kit: "It’s all about participation and not so much about being first or best." The kits are "about giving retailers a tool to get players in and to use Kickoff! and play on the field."
The Kickoff! Launch Kit will include a double-sided poster with an enlarged copy of the Kickoff! cover art on one side and the two team captains on the other, along with badges and patches for event winners, as well as certificates and dice to reward sportsmanship, "team spirit," and highlight events in the game. Information to help retailers run and score in-store events and score sheets are also included. Kits will be provided to retailers free of charge.
According to Fox, Steamforged intends to offer launch kits to support other new releases periodically throughout the year.
The Guild Ball: Kick Off! 2 Player Starter Box set released last November (see "Steamforged Offers New ‘Guild Ball’ Entry Product"), offering players an easy starting point to get into the game.
