The archeology/exploration game Akrotiri is being revamped and expanded.  Z-Man plans to release the new version in June.

Like the original released in 2014 (see “New Z-Man Game ‘Akrotiri’”), in the new version, players assume the role of archaeologist explorers trying to locate long-lost Greek temples and fund expeditions to recover priceless artifacts.

The game’s designers, Jay Cormier and Sen-Foong Lim, have revised and updated the game, drawing on feedback from the fan community.  This version has a number of rules tweaks, some game balance adjustments, and revised goal cards.  In addition, by combining the new version with an original copy of the game, it will now be playable with up to four players.

Akrotiri comes with 1 starting board, 1 market board, 2 player aids, 2 boats, 12 temples, 36 land tiles, 49 cards, 32 resource cubes, and 25 Drachma pieces.  The colors of the components are distinct from the original version of the game, allowing players to combine them to play with more players.  Akrotiri is intended for ages 13 and up, and plays in about 45 minutes.  MSRP is $29.99.
