Next spring, Tasty Minstrel Games will release an English language version of Jesse Li’s The Flow of History.

Like most games about building civilizations, The Flow of History makes the players the leaders of a growing nation.  Players bid to acquire cards representing technological development, infrastructure, leaders, and Wonders, trying to advance their culture through history.  Once acquired, cards can be used to generate resources that can be invested in future acquisitions, to attack rival nations, or to provide a variety of special effects.  In the end, the best developed nation wins the game.

The Flow of History comes with 72 cards, 72 cardboard tokens, and 5 wooden player markers.  The game is intended for 2 to 5 players, ages 14 and up, and takes an hour and a half to play.  MSRP is $24.99.

Tasty Minstrel is funding production via Kickstarter, and the campaign has raised more than $90,000 in pledged support from more than 2800 backers at the halfway point in the campaign. Backer fulfillment is planned for March, with trade release to follow.

Earlier this month, Tasty Minstrel completed an Indiegogo campaign to raise capital for the company (see “Tasty Minstrel’s Successful Raise”).
