San Diego Comic-Con News: The Marvel TV panel concluded with the showing of the second trailer for the Netflix Marvel series The Defenders, which is chock full of action and intra-team banter between the unlikely quartet of superheroes who represent the only force that can save Manhattan from the assault of mysterious sect bent on total destruction. Sigourney Weaver stars as the ancient cult leader Alexandra, who faces off against Charlie Cox (Daredevil), Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones), Mike Colter (Luke Cage), and Finn Jones (Iron Fist) in the new Netflix series that debuts on August 18.
A new Defenders comic series, written by Brian Michael Bendis, launched in June (see "'Defenders' Comic Will Affect Other Series").
