Among its numerous new releases at Gen Con this month, Ninja Division had a surprise for miniatures fans: Guts: WWII, Soda Pop Miniatures new line of cutesy World War II miniatures.

Crafted from white metal and resin, the Guts line features the highly detailed miniatures that Soda Pop Miniatures is known for, sculpted in a cute “super deformed” style with over-sized heads and stylized details.  The Guts line of historically-inspired miniatures including tanks and soldiers from World War II.  The initial batch of releases offers German and American forces, each side having one tank and two groups of infantry.

The initial releases include:

  • M4 Sherman tank:  1 multi-part resin and metal kit, MSRP $24.99.
  • Panzer IV tank:  1 multi-part resin and metal kit, MSRP $24.99.
  • US Army Squad:  10 multi-part metal models, MSRP $17.99.
  • US Army HQ:  8 multi-part metal models, MSRP $14.99.
  • Wehrmacht Army Squad:  10 multi-part metal models, MSRP $17.99.
  • Wehrmacht Army HQ:  8 multi-part metal models, MSRP $14.99.

There is also a collected set for each army, the American Infantry Platoon, which includes one M4 Sherman, two US Army Squads, and one US Army HQ, and the German Infantry Platoon with one Panzer IV, two Wehrmacht Army Squads, and one Wehrmacht Army HQ.  The collections are MSRP $70.00 each.

At this time, the Guts line only includes miniatures, but Ninja Division plans to produce a new line of stand-alone games and develop a unique IP for the models.  A representative of the company told ICv2 that the centerpiece game for the new line is currently under development, and it is being designed by Andy Hall, formerly of Games Workshop and the lead writer for Sega’s Total War:  Warhammer.

Ninja Division also announced plans to produce a line of unpainted miniatures for use with Paizo’s Starfinder RPG (see “Ninja Division Plans Unpainted ‘Starfinder’ Minis”).
