Lawrence Block’s enduring ex-cop-turned-unlicensed-detective is coming to comics from IDW Publishing. John K. Snyder III (Doctor Mid-Nite, Suicide Squad) is adapting Eight Million Ways to Die from the renown crime writer’s 17-volume Matthew Scudder series. The 144-page graphic novel will be in stores on June 26 for an MSRP of $24.99.
Scudder, a guilt-ridden ex-cop, hunts down a serial killer hitman in 1980s New York, a city plagued by violent crime, while facing down his own demons. The series should appeal to fans of noir and crime comics like Richard Stark’s Parker and Titan Comics' Hard Case Crime line (see "Titan and Hard Case Crime Add New Potboilers").
