Disney’s talks with Fox about acquiring key assets including 21st Century Fox Studios and FX Networks (see "Disney Eying Fox Assets") has apparently put those assets in play, as Comcast is now also in talks with, according to CNBC.  Comcast, originally a cable company, has been rolling up other media and content companies including NBCUniversal, and most recently Dreamworks Animation (see "Comcast / Universal/ NBC Buying Dreamworks Animation for $3.8 Billion").

The talks between Fox and Disney, which were paused as of last week, have now resumed, CNBC reports.

The assets being shopped include Fox’s X-Men movies (including Deadpool, New Mutants, Logan, etc.) and TV shows (The Gifted), which would help Disney consolidate more of the Marvel movie rights, which are currently dispersed among Fox, Sony, and Universal, as well as Marvel Studios.
