DC Comics will launch Mera: Queen of Atlantis, the first series to star queen of the sea, on February 28.

The six-issue series will be written by Dan Abnett and drawn by Lan Medina. The first issue will feature a main cover by Nicola Scott and a variant cover by Stanley “Artgerm” Lau. Mera must keep peace between Atlantis and the surface world during the Atlantean Civil War as the queen in exile. But then Orm, Aquaman’s brother, finds out about the conflict and attempts to usurp the throne.

Mera was created by Jack Miller and Nick Cardy, and first appeared in Aquaman #11 in 1963. Amber Heard played Lady Mera in the recently released Justice League feature and will reprise the role in the Aquaman solo film in December 2018 (see “Pics from 'Aquaman'”).
