Everything Epic will release Rambo: The Board Game next January. The game is currently seeking funding on Kickstarter.
As announced last year (see “Preview: Sneak Peek at ‘Rambo: The Board Game’”), the game will be a mission-based cooperative tactical board game with miniatures, based on the events in the 1985 movie Rambo: First Blood Part II. Acting as Rambo himself or other members of his team, players will work together to complete missions on the modular gameboard, using stealth, firepower, and strategy. The game is designed to play campaign-style, and includes five complete “Operations,” each of which includes at least three separate missions played one after the other, with new material added during the Operation using a legacy-like system.
Rambo: The Board Game will include 4 plastic hero miniatures, 4 hero mats, 5 Operations, each in a thematic tuck box, 12 terrain map boards, 10 terrain overlay tiles, 20 enemy standees with bases, more than 500 cards, 2 ten-sided dice, and 275 cardboard tokens. MSRP is $60.00.
Everything Epic is funding the production of Rambo: The Board Game through a Kickstarter campaign that broke its $50,000 funding goal in just over two days thanks to nearly 500 backers, with 27 days remaining as of this writing. Retailers who want to participate in the campaign can contact Everything Epic directly. The campaign includes two exclusive expansion sets based on the movies First Blood and Rambo III that will not be released into the trade.
