Transporting space junk for profit is the name of the game in Renegade Game Studio’s upcoming release Junk Orbit, scheduled for June.

In Junk Orbit, the players are space ship captains who earn profits by collecting space junk from one planet and delivering it to another planet where that “trash” is valued.  The game combines the tried-and-true “pick up and deliver” mechanic with an innovative movement system in which players use the gravitational pull of the planets and moons to propel their ships, or even jettison their cargo for a boost.

Junk Orbit was created by Daniel Solis (Kodama:  The Tree Spirits, Trickster:  Champions of Time).  The game includes 128 junk tiles, 5 ship tokens, 5 ship cards, and 5 double-sided game boards.  It is intended for 2 to 5 players, ages 10 and up, and takes about half an hour to play.  MSRP is $35.00.

Renegade recently announced plans for a new expansion for Explorers of the North Sea which will release in April (see “‘Rocks of Ruin’ Adds New Dimensions to ‘Explorers of the North Sea’”) and a game about tunneling thieves in May (see “Renegade Sneaks Into ‘Prowler’s Passage’”).The company is also producing the game Wonderland exclusively for ITTD (see “New Exclusive Items For International Tabletop Day”).
