DC Comics will be releasing a paperback collection of Jack Kirby’s seminal New Gods. The 440-page volume will collect New Gods #1-11, plus the 48-page story “Even Gods Must Die” from the 1984 New Gods reprint series and the original 1985 graphic novel The Hunger Dogs. The New Gods by Jack Kirby TPB will be on sale August 29 for an MSRP of $29.99.

The release is timely. A Wrinkle in Time director (and noted Big Barda enthusiast) Ava DuVernay has been tapped to adapt Kirby’s beloved creation for the big screen (see “Ava Duvernay to Direct 'The New Gods'”).
