The comics in Mixology & Mayhem are inspired by real-world figure John Morrissey, the leader of The Dead Rabbits, an Irish-American gang that worked the streets of Manhattan in the mid-19th century. The comics are in the style of those used for the menus at The Dead Rabbit Grocery & Grog, an award-winning Irish bar in New York that was founded by Muldoon and McGarry. The book includes 100 cocktail recipes amid a multi-part serialized comics story starring a rabbit-headed antihero based on Morrissey but set in a more modern era.
