DC Vertigo will mark the 30th anniversary of Neil Gaiman’s groundbreaking The Sandman with a new edition. The Sandman Vol. 1: Preludes And Nocturnes 30th Anniversary Edition, which collects the first eight issues of the seminal series, will be on sale October 24. The trade paperback has an MSRP of $19.99. Subsequent volumes will follow monthly.
Each volume in The Sandman 30th Anniversary Edition sports a new cover from Dave McKean and features an introduction from bestselling authors and popular entertainers, such as Patrick Rothfuss (The Kingkiller Chronicle series), Kelly Sue DeConick (Captain Marvel, Pretty Deadly), Paul Dini (Tiny Toon Adventures, Batman: The Animated Series), Patton Oswalt (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Ratatouille), and more.
The new edition of The Sandman hits stands not long after Gaiman’s Sandman Universe imprint kicks off with The Sandman Universe #1 on August 8 (see "Preview: The 'Sandman Universe' Series Artists").
