Created by Daniel Alves and Eurico Cunha (two parts of the trio behind Masmorra: Dungeons of Arcadia), The Towers of Arkhanos is a game about building magical towers based on a dice drafting mechanic. Each round, every player chooses one die from the dice pool, which they can use to construct a pillar on a tower floor and take the action shown. When a floor is full, those who built pillars there earn points and a new floor is added. But, any worker on the floor without a pillar of their own is “frozen,” and will be stuck there for the rest of the game.
The Towers of Arkhanos features artwork by Marcelo Bastos and Rodrigo Ramos. It comes with 1 main board, 4 player boards, 18 tower tiles, 40 translucent dice, 32 wooden meeple pawns, 50 scoring tokens, and 1 cloth bag. The game is intended for 2 to 4 players, ages 14 and up, and plays in about half an hour.Creative Games Studio is funding the production of The Towers of Arkhanos through a Kickstarter campaign, with backer fulfillment planned for May. IDW Games will handle the distribution of the retail version of the game following backer fulfillment. The release date and MSRP for the retail version has not yet been announced.
