Endemol Shine North America has begun licensing its popular sci-fi anthology series Black Mirror in the U.S. this year, and licensee Target is adding a board game inspired by the episode “Nosedive” to its offerings on November 25.

Asmodee North America has produced Nosedive, the first social board game inspired by the episode of the same name from the third season of the British dark future anthology series. The episode follows Lacie Pound (played by Bryce Dallas Howard) who lives in a society where everyone shares their daily activities and rates their interactions with each other on a one-to-five star scale, from coffee shop transitions to major work and social engagements. This cumulative social rating affects people’s ability to purchase things like luxury apartments, plane tickets and car rentals. A catastrophically bad day leads to a nosedive in Lacie’s popularity stripping her of all social standing.

The Nosedive light strategy game challenges players to create a “perfect” life by collecting Lifestyle Cards while avoiding any negative ratings to their Social Score. The game integrates with a free smartphone app available on iOS and Android. The game is for 3 – 6 players, ages 13 and up, and plays in 45 minutes. MSRP is $19.99.

Target also currently features a line of Black Mirror t-shirts and sweatshirts.
