Gamers can become 19th-century artists in Atelier: The Painter’s Studio, and design buildings in Italy in Walking in Burano, two new art-inspired games from Alderac Entertainment Group, the company behind Istanbul (see "Istanbul Big Box").
In Atelier: The Painter’s Studio, 2-4 players take on the role of a painter managing an art studio. This resource management game uses dice rolling and worker placement with Tarot-sized painting cards that can be played in many combinations for a unique strategic experience. Atelier: The Painter’s Studio is expected to release in Q3 with an MSRP of $39.99.
Using creativity and territory building, Walking in Burano is a game of decorating buildings throughout the city of Burano, Italy. As a set collection game, players must assemble buildings of matching colors and collect cards with matching icons to score Victory Points. Other aspects of game play include card drafting and tile placement. Walking in Burano is coming in September with an MSRP of $29.99. The base game will also include a mini-expansion.
