Mayday Games was showing off three new titles releasing this year at the GAMA Trade Show, including The Golden Sails, from the designer of Viceroy, 7 Summits from the co-creator of Sagrada, and Sweet Success.

In The Golden Sails, players are merchant ship captains trying to collect goods to bring back to port.  The goods are collected using a drafting mechanic, while “spells” allow players to enhance the goods they are drafting.  Different goods will score differently, forcing players to adjust the goods they focus on collecting.

The Golden Sails was designed by Yuri Zhuravljov, and will be produced under a license from Russian publisher Hobby World.  The game will be funded through a Kickstarter campaign in the spring, with release planned for Q3 or Q4.  MSRP will be around $25.00.

Daryl Andrews is the mind behind 7 Summits, a dice-drafting style game about mountain climbing.  Players use their dice to upgrade their climbing technology and attempt to reach the peaks of seven different famous summits faster than their rivals, with more points going to those who can climb the mountains the fastest.  Meanwhile, the players must contend with the variable weather.

Mayday Games will seek funding for 7 Summits through Kickstarter this summer.  Release dates have not been announced.  MSRP will be in the $30.00 to $35.00 range.

Rounding out Mayday’s trio of new titles is Sweet Success, a game about baking.  Players try to pursue their passion for baking by opening a bakery, but then must contend with all of the details of running a small business, such as gathering ingredients around town, attracting customers, and dealing with clients.

Sweet Success was created by Charlie Hoops.  The release date has not been determined.  MSRP will be around $30.00.

Last autumn, Mayday released its tongue-in-cheek medical game Bad Doctor (see “The ‘Bad Doctor’ Will Be in Soon”).
