San Diego Comic-Con News:  DC Comics has announced that, as part of the celebration of Batman’s eightieth anniversary, Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitch, who famously collaborated on the groundbreaking Wildstorm series The Authority back in 1999, are working together again on The Batman’s Grave, a 12-issue monthly maxi-series that debuts on October 9 with a cover by Hitch and a variant cover by JeeHung Lee.

In The Batman’s Grave Ellis provides a portrait of Bruce Wayne/Batman as a consummate detective, whose insights are provided by a near psychotic identification with murder victims.  He immerses himself in the details of their lives and obsesses over every aspect of their deaths.  The question becomes, will Batman’s intense identification with murder victims, even as he is confronting their killers, lead to the demise of the World’s Greatest Detective?
