DC Comics will launch Wonder Woman: Dead Earth, a new four-issue DC Black Label miniseries by Daniel Warren Johnson with colors by Mike Spicer, in December. Like the content, the format and pacing are adult-oriented; each issue will be a 48-page prestige format comic at $6.99, releasing every other month.
Johnson is best-known for his Eisner-nominated series Extremity, published by Image Comics.
The story takes place in a dystopic future where Earth has been reduced to a nuclear wasteland with only one human city remaining, and it’s threatened by titanic monsters that have taken over the earth. Wonder Woman wakens from a centuries-long sleep to protect the city and try to discover whether her actions in the past helped bring about this world of the future.
