The superhero Silk will get a new solo series in July, Marvel Comics announced at C2E2. The writer of the series will be novelist Maurene Goo (I Believe in a Thing Called Love, Somewhere Only We Know), who, like Silk, is of Korean descent. Takeshi Miyazawa (Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane, Spider-Gwen: Ghost Spider) will be the artist.
Silk is the superhero identity of Cindy Moon, a fellow student of Peter Parker who was bitten by the same radioactive spider that gave him his powers. Cindy’s powers are different, and at first she had trouble controlling them, but eventually she takes on the identity of Silk and becomes a superhero as well. She made her first appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man #1 (2014), by Dan Slott and Humberto Ramos, and then went on to get her own solo series (see "Preview: ‘Silk’ #1"), which ended in 2017.
