Wizards of the Coast revealed the product info for Double Masters VIP Edition, a premium pack for Magic: The Gathering, which will release August 7. Double Masters is a reprint set that was announced in May (see "Wizards of the Coast Unveil 'Magic: The Gathering' 'Double Masters' Set").

WotC continues to hunt whales in 2020 (see "Rosewater and Team Hunt 'Magic: The Gathering' Whales"), and the recently introduced Double Masters VIP Edition packs continue the trend. Each VIP Edition pack comes with 33 cards and 2 foil double-sided tokens. The complete pack contents breaks down as follows: 2 foil showcase rares or mythics, 2 foil rares or mythics, 8 foil uncommons, 9 foil commons, 12 full-art basic lands (2 are foil), and 2 foil double-sided tokens.

Sellers have been pre-selling the VIP Edition packs for around $185.00 per pack (market price on TCGPlayer at time of this article's publication). This presale price makes this one of the most expensive booster packs released for any modern Magic: The Gathering set. Double Masters VIP Edition will surely test the upper end of the consumer spending threshold as the world economy begins to emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic.
