Mecha-piloting heroes clash with alien forces in SolarFlare’s Invid Invasion – A Robotech Game, releasing in September.

Invid Invasion is set after Dana Sterling’s forces have defeated the Robotech Masters.  The mysterious alien Invid have arrived at Earth hoping to acquire the Protoculture energy that the Robotech Masters left behind.  The heroes must fight their way to the Reflex Point and defeat the forces of Queen Regess before the Robotech Expeditionary Force arrives to end the Invid threat by destroying everything with their Neutron-S missiles.

The game is a fully cooperative card-based board game for 1 to 6 players.  Cards representing the Invid forces form a face down grid.  The players must find a path through those cards to reach the Reflex Point within six turns, at which point Queen Regess arrives.  They then have six more turns to defeat the Invid forces and save the Earth from destruction.

Invid Invasion comes with 150 cards, 50 tokens, 24 wooden cubes, 27 punchout standees, 15 custom dice, 1 standard die, 6 hero placards, 1 Regess placard, and 1 game board.  Intended for 1 to 6 players, ages 13 and up, games take about 2 hours to play.  MSRP is $49.99.  Produced under license from Harmony Gold.

This will be the third Robotech game produced by SolarFlare, following ROBOTECH:  Crisis Point and ROBOTECH:  Force of Arms (see “SolarFlare Launches ‘Robotech:  Crisis Point’”).
