Anansi is a trick-taking card game by Cyril Blondel and Jim Dratwa in the same series of games as Spicy (see "Asmodee Will Release 'Spicy' into U.S. Trade"). Players need to take tricks to build stories (scoring piles), and please followers from the supply deck. If a player manages to have a story for each inspired follower they draw at the end of each round, they get a bonus points card for scoring at the end of the game. The goal of the game is to inspire the most followers, and end up with the most points.
This game also features incredibly stylized artwork from African artists Emmanuel Mdlalose and Dayo Baiyegunhi. The game box includes 36 Follower cards, 42 Story cards, 3 Trump cards, 15 Trickster Bonus cards, and a Rulebook. It is for three to five players, ages 10 and up, plays in 30 minutes, and will retail for $14.99.
