Book, comic, and event business veteran Kuo-Yu Liang has formally announced the creation of Ku Worldwide, a new consultancy focused on helping publishing, gaming, comic and other media companies with business development and strategy, distribution, events, publishing, and sales.
Liang spent 13 years at Random House as a sales rep, Associate Publisher at Del Rey, and Director of Licensing and Business Development. More recently he spent 16 years building Diamond Book Distributors as Vice President-Sales, Marketing, and Business Development. In 2018, he joined ReedPop as Global Dirtector of Business Development, a position that ended last year after the Covid-driven collapse of the global event business (see "Big Company Execs on the Move").
Since then, Liang has begun serving consulting clients, and earlier this week, the Book Industry Charitable Foundation announced that he had joined the organization’s board of directors (see "Kuo-Yu Liang Joins Binc Foundation Board").
