Canadian progressive rock band Rush had a 40-year relationship with Hugh Syme, who helped them produce magnificent conceptual art covers for their albums and illustrated works. IDW is releasing an art book that showcases the original illustrations, paintings, photography, and stories behind each album. This book is written by music journalist Stephen Humphries. It also features a foreword written by the band's late legendary drummer and songwriter Neil Peart, who also produced multiple graphic novels (see " Preview: 'Clockwork Lives: The Graphic Novel' HC" and also, "Graphic Novel Recounts Rush's Creation of 'A Farewell to Kings'").
Peart once said the following about his relationship with Syme:
"From the first time Hugh and I met, we shared a level of communication that would sustain us through all the years of discussing art by long distance," said Peart.
The Art of Rush: Serving A Life Sentence is a 288-page full-color HC. It is a sizeable book, measuring 12" by 12", and it will retail for $99.99.
