Wizards of the Coast will no longer publish Magic: The Gathering in Russian, Korean, or Chinese (Traditional) starting with the release of Dominaria United.

The company will instead focus its major releases on the eight core languages it produces: English, Japanese, Chinese (Simplified), French, Italian, German, Spanish, and Portuguese. WotC also mentioned that WPN stores impacted by this change will now receive their event support promos and product in English. However, WotC will maintain Magic: The Gathering Arena support for the Korean and Russian languages.

The impact of WotC dropping print runs in these three languages is potentially most significant to the collector community. Rare Russian foil cards are highly sought after in certain segments of the Magic collector community and often command astronomical premiums compared to their counterparts from other languages. Korean and Chinese (Traditional) cards are slightly less impactful to the collector community. WotC had stopped printing cards in two of these languages for periods of time before, and the collectability of cards in these languages weren't significantly impacted in either direction outside of a few Reserved List cards printed in those languages (see "Reserved List Singles Card Prices Surge into 2021") and the Portal Three Kingdoms set, which was only released in Japanese, Chinese (Simplified), and Chinese (Traditional).
