This new miniseries by Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden with art from Matt Smith, coloring by Chris O’Halloran, and lettering by Clem Robins, revolves around a tale of romance between Dr. Anastasia Bransfield and Hellboy. Dr. Bransfield is Hellboy's archaeologist ex-girlfriend whom Golden created for the Hellboy novel The Lost Army. This new miniseries will feature Dr. Bransfield's first full comic book appearance.

“It’s been twenty-five years since Dr. Anastasia Bransfield first appeared as Hellboy’s ex-girlfriend in my novel Hellboy: The Lost Army,” said Golden of the new miniseries. “I’ve always thought one of the reasons Mike considered my three Hellboy novels as canon is because of that relationship. Over the years we talked many times about telling the stories of their adventures together, and the day has finally come.”

The story starts out with a two-part Goblin Night tale where Hellboy is protecting a shipment of occult artifacts from a gang of goblins. They are on a train to the British Museum with Dr. Anastasia Bransfield along for the ride. Dr. Bransfield and Hellboy end up chasing the goblin gang across the British countryside, when they somehow end up at a punk rock show.

Dark Horse Comics also launched The British Paranormal Society earlier this year (see "'The British Paranormal Society'").
