Asmodee and Atomic Mass Games announced Star Wars: Shatterpoint, a new miniatures skirmish game, for release in June 2023.
In Star Wars: Shatterpoint, players enter strike teams of miniatures into skirmish battles with the fate of the galaxy hanging in the balance. To achieve victory, players will need to build custom squads of characters and race against each other to complete mission objectives. The characters each have special abilities and different combat skills, which lead to different in-game strategies as players mix-and-match characters to form unique squads.
“The design and development of the Star Wars: Shatterpoint miniatures game is really our love letter to the excitement and energy of being a kid on Saturday mornings,” said Will Shick, director of product development at AMG. “We wanted to take all the great things about Star Wars, the action, the adventure, and the iconic characters, to create a Star Wars miniatures game experience that felt like it had come straight out of the animated lineups of the 80s and 90s.”
The game features highly-detailed, dynamic miniatures sculpts of iconic Star Wars characters such as Ahsoka Tano, Bo-Katan Kryze, and Lord Maul. As of the publication of this article, there has been no word on MSRP for this product.
Atomic Mass Games also announced Star Wars Legion: Crashed X-Wing Battlefield Expansion, a new miniature set, for release into retail (see "X-Wing Battlefield Expansion").
