The Free Comic Book Day Selection Committee has announced next year’s Gold Sponsor Comics for FCBD 2023, which will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2023. The selection committee includes over 20 comics retailers, and the selections encompass a wide array of titles and genres, including manga, all-ages titles, and media spinoffs. Two of the Gold Sponsor comics are part of the quartet of Marvel Comics' titles that were announced earlier this month (see “Marvel FCBD 2023 Comics Lead In to Summer Events”). Several of the titles are lead-ups to new series, including Jeff Lemire’s Fishflies, Titan Comics' new Conan the Barbarian series, and VIZ Media's Choujin X, by Tokyo Ghoul creator Sui Ishida.

There are 13 Gold Sponsor Comics in 2023, up from 11 in 2022 and 12 in previous years. The 31 Silver Sponsor titles will be announced on November 17.
