Hachette Boardgames has announced a March 1 release date for Sorry We Are French’s head-to-head card game Gosu X.

In this two-player card game, players seek to prove their worth to the eight Immortals that rule the universe of Jalaanx through battle.  At the beginning of the game, each player selects three of the Immortals’ clans to form their deck.  The clans that are not selected then add effects to the game.  In each round of play, they add cards to their armies and upgrade their cards to more powerful versions and use their special abilities.  At the end of the round, their strength is compared and the more powerful army moves closer to victory.

Gosu X comes with 120 cards, 16 wooden pieces, 8 tiles, 1 game board, and 1 cloth bag.  The game was created by Sorry We Are French based on Kim Sato’s Gosu and Gosu Tactics games, and it features artwork by David Sitbon.  It takes about 20 minutes to play, and is intended for ages 14 and up.

This month, Hachette launched Gigamic’s Movie Mind (see “Hachette Explores the ‘Movie Mind’”) and Scorpion Masque’s Zero to 100 (see “Hachette Boardgames Announces New Trivia Game by Scorpion Masque”).
