Cephalofair Games unveiled Gloomhaven 2E, a new edition of the core game, which will head to BackerKit on June 20, 2023.
The second edition will feature an updated core game based on the feedback from the community, playtesters, co-designers, and developers; the world, story, and gameplay will stay the same from the first edition. However, the second edition will have additional content for players to delve into as well as rebalanced and redesigned mercenary classes, items, and scenarios. The new edition will also showcase brand-new artwork, updated miniatures, and a new faction-based reputation system.
“While Gloomhaven is well-loved, I'm not sure anyone would call it perfect," said Issac Childres, Founder of Cephalofair Games. "I am excited to have the opportunity to make this incredible game even better with a lot of polishing and refining of the content, based on what I and the team have learned over the past six years by listening to fans and playing the game a lot ourselves. This new edition is going to be even more fantastic.” Gloomhaven was #2 on ICv2's Top 10 Hobby Channel Board Games chart in Fall 2022 (see "Fall 2022").
