Asmodee will be releasing Matagot’s trick-taking card game St. Patrick into the trade on July 28.

Inspired by the tales of Ireland’s snake-chasing saint, St. Patrick is a trick-taking card game that integrates elements of classic card games like Hearts, Oh Hell, and duplicate Bridge.  In each hand, the players exchange cards and bid on how many tricks they will take to earn “Relics”, which are used to help them avoid “snake bites”.  Each player starts the game with 20 points of health, and loses health to snake bites if they earn points beyond their bid.  Once a player is reduced to 0 health the game ends, and the player who has earned the most points win.

St. Patrick comes with 36 cards and 15 relic tokens.  It is intended for 3 or 4 players, ages 10 and up.  Games take about half an hour to play.  MSRP is $14.00.  The game was designed by Haig Tahta (Senators) and Sacha Tahta Alexander

Earlier this year, Asmodee launched Matagot’s Revive (see “‘Revive’ Civilization”).
