Indianapolis police are currently investigating the theft of over $300,000 worth of Magic: The Gathering sealed product, according to a post on their Twitter feed (see below).

The crime happened on August 2, 2023 just before the opening of Gen Con in the vendor storage area. The thieves used a pallet jack to steal what appears to be a pallet of sealed cases of gaming cards in the surveillance photos released by the IMPD see below. Pastimes Comics & Games, the organizer of Magic: The Gathering events at Gen Con, later confirmed these sealed boxes to mostly be Commander Masters Set and Collector Booster boxes.

Anyone with information about the crime or the location of the stolen property should contact the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477(TIPS) to remain anonymous.
