Writer Fabian Nicieza, who helped shape the character of Cable in X-Force and later scripted the Cable and Deadpool series, is on board to write the four-issue miniseries Cable, which will tie in with Marvel’s X-Men events Fall of the House of X and Rise of the Powers of X (see “Three New X-Men Series Announced”). Scot Eaton will be the artist for the miniseries, which will launch on January 17, 2024; the first issue will have a cover by Whilce Portacio.
Cable will fight the anti-mutant organization Orchis and a new threat, the Neocracy, in the miniseries, and he will be joined in battle by his counterpart Young Cable. “This series finds Nathan Dayspring Askani’son Gesundheit up against the wall,” Nicieza said in a statement accompanying the announcement, "because while the lives of the X-world on Krakoa are under attack, Cable has to focus on the next potential ‘big threat." In order to stop the Neocracy before it becomes a revolution of evolution, Cable needs the help (and annoyance) of Young Cable! Indeed, hijinks ensue and Chiclet guns will be fired!”
"It’s always fun to write Cable and challenge him with a big physical and emotional conflict," Nicieza said. "Having written him more than anyone else on the planet, it’s also fun to add to that total!"
