DC’s newest Suicide Squad series has a new lineup and a new writer. Transgender actress and activist Nicole Maines will take the reins on the new series, Suicide Squad: Dream Team, along with artists Eddy Barrows and Eber Ferreira. Amanda Waller has been plotting a power grab in Titans: Beast World and Action Comics, and now she moves her plan forward by bringing Dreamer onto the Suicide Squad along with Harley Quinn, Bizarro, Clock King, Black Alice, and Deadeye. The first issue of the ongoing series will be released on March 12, 2024, with a main cover by series artists Barrows and Ferreira and variants by Riccardo Federici, Sweeney Boo, and Gleb Melnikov.
Maines wrote the original YA graphic novel Bad Dream, which told the origin story of DC’s transgender superhero Dreamer (see “Maines to Pen ‘Bad Dream’ Graphic Novel for DC”).
