Wizards of the Coast revealed cards from the new Universes Beyond: Assassin's Creed, a booster set for Magic: The Gathering, at their MagicCon: Chicago preview panel. This set will release on July 5, 2024.
The Assassin's Creed set contains several new EDH legal cards that feature popular characters from the video games series. It includes main characters such as Altair Ibn-La'ahad and Ezio Auditore da Firenze. There are also artifact spells with Assassin's Creed flair, like The Animus and Hidden Blade, as well as reprinted staple cards such as Temporal Trespass and Sword of Feast and Famine.
One of the more unique elements of this set are the historical figure cards. In the Assassin's Creed series, various historical figures make cameos and the Magic set is no different. Players will be able to use Leonardo Da Vinci and Cleopatra as commanders, and these cards will also come in serialized versions for collectors. Thus far, there are four SKUs announced for this set: Beyond Boosters, a Starter Kit, a Bundle, and Collector Boosters.
This set will be the second Universes Beyond set of 2024 (see "'Fallout' Set").
