Skybound’s Energon Universe will continue to grow in June with two new limited series spotlighting G.I. Joe characters, Scarlett, by writer Kelly Thompson and artist Marco Ferrari, and Destro, by writer Dan Watters and artist Andrei Bressan.

Scarlett, a.k.a. Shana M. O’Hara, is a counterintelligence specialist who is skilled in martial arts. She made her debut in 1982 as one of the original members of the G.I. Joe Team, and in the new limited series, she travels to Japan to infiltrate the Arashikage Clan, a shadowy organization that is rapidly becoming more powerful, and learn about the secret weapon that could change everything. The first issue of Scarlett will be released on June 5, 2024, with a main cover by Ferrari, cover B by Joëlle Jones, a 1:10 incentive connecting cover by Gleb Melnikov, a 1:25 variant by Steve Epting, a 1:50 variant by Leonardo Romero, a 1:100 foil variant by Jonboy Meyers, and a 1:250 incentive by David Mack.

Destro follows the man behind the weapons firm M.A.R.S. Industries as he battles to maintain his power in a universe that has been utterly changed by the existence of the new energy source Energon. In a statement accompanying the announcement, Watters promised “a visceral, explosive thriller in which he [Destro] isn't very nice to anyone at all — everything you’d want from your favorite amoral arms trafficker.” The first issue will be released on June 19, 2024, with a main cover by Bressan and Adriano Lucas, a 1:10 incentive connecting cover by Nikola Čižmešija, a 1:50 incentive cover by Jorge Fornes, a 1:100 foil incentive cover by Jonboy Meyers, and a 1:250 incentive cover by David Mack.
