The evil sea witch Ursula is on the loose and is looking to take over Lorcana. The new set adds more characters from beloved franchises to the game as well as new mechanics and changes in gameplay. Some of the characters included in this set will be Bruno and the Madrigal family from Disney’s Encanto, Sorcerer’s Apprentice Mickey, and Yen Sid. The product line will have two different starter decks (Amethyst & Amber or Sapphire & Steel; MSRP $16.99), a booster display (packs retail for $5.99), and a new Illumineer’s Trove (MRSP $49.99).
Alongside the booster set, Ravensburger will release a Disney Lorcana TCG cooperative game, Illumineer's Quest: Deep Trouble. In this game, players must work together to thwart Ursula's plans by hunting her down and defeating her at her lair. The game offers players scaled levels of difficulty, as Ursula's power increase as the game goes on, and players will need to customize their decks to have a chance of defeating Ursula on her highest level of difficulty.
Illumineer's Quest: Deep Trouble comes with two pre-constructed decks, an Ursula deck with a different card back, and a guided gameplay mat. It is for one to two (but can be expanded to four players with extra decks), ages 8 and up, and will retail for $59.99.
The new booster set also brings forth a new organized play initiative, the Disney Lorcana Challenge. It is a new competitive circuit for the game in which players will be able to win exclusive prizes like extended art versions of Let It Go, Cinderella, Stouthearted; Rapunzel, Gifted With Healing and Mickey Mouse, Brave Little Tailor. The first events for this circuit will kick off on May 25, 2024, and there events planned for Atlanta, GA and Lille, France.
Disney Lorcana: Into the Inklands boosters landed at #2 on the TCGplayer Top 25 Sealed Products chart (see "February 2024").
