Venomverse Reborn is a new four-issue miniseries coming from Marvel in June that will feature several symbiote stories by different creative teams in each issue. A new story by Venom writer Al Ewing and artist Danilo S. Beyruth will provide a context for the stories, which will introduce new characters in a variety of settings and genres.
The first issue will include a murder story by Benjamin Percy and Brian Leven, and the first comics appearance of Venom from Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man 2 game, as he battles Krull. The first issue will go on sale on June 19, 2024, with a cover by Tony Daniel.
In Venomverse Reborn #2, Phillip Kennedy Johnson and John McCrea take Venom back to the Viking era, Adam Warren and Chris Cross bring back the Venom of Venom: The End, and Chris Giarrusso lightens things up with a Mini-Marvels Venom story. The second issue will go on sale on July 24, also with a cover by Tony Daniel.
"I'm doing the framing sequence for these issues, and that means I get to see every one of these new symbiote sensations hit my inbox before anyone else outside editorial, and that's definitely a perk of the job,” Ewing said in a statement accompanying the announcement. “As for what's in that framing story—if you've been a fan of some of the more cosmic aspects we've brought to Venom of late, you should be more than happy. But the beauty of an anthology series like this is that there's something to please everyone who dives into our lake of goo."
The limited series Venom: Separation Anxiety will debut in May (see “David Michelinie, Gerardo Sandoval Team Up for More Retro Venom”).
