Hasbro has awarded global rights (except Asia) to produce and distribute Power Rangers product to Playmates Toys, the company announced, with the first product range, a Mighty Morphin Power Rangers toy line, planned for 2025 launch. Playmates will have rights to develop Power Rangers products, including action figures, blasters, plush, role play, vehicles and accessories.
Hasbro retains entertainment rights, and it licenses publishing, fashion and footwear, promotions, and other rights to other companies. Power Rangers: Cosmic Fury is currently available on Netflix. Hasbro acquired Power Rangers from Saban Brands in 2018 for $522 million (see “Power Rangers Go! Go! to Hasbro”).
Renegade Game Studios produces games based on Power Rangers (see “’Finster’s Monster-Matic Cookbook Sourcebook’”). BOOM! Studios, which produces comics based on the property, is currently planning a major transition this summer (see “’Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ To End”).
