Wizards of the Coast revealed its Inside the Elevator Superdrop sets, the next wave of Secret Lair sets for Magic: The Gathering, which will hit direct-to-consumer preorder on July 29, 2024 at 9 a.m. PT.

Inside the Elevator Superdrop features 14 sets total, including both foil and non-foil sets. The big news for this Superdrop is that WotC has finally added Monty Python and The Holy Grail to Magic: The Gathering. For decades now, players have been referring to the Prodigal Sorcerer card as "Tim" and now they can finally own that card with the appropriate "Tim the Enchanter" art that it has always deserved. Furthermore, fans finally get a Dismember card with the artwork that it always should've had.

Beyond the two Monty Python sets, WotC has perhaps managed to produce three Brain Dead sets that are strong contenders for having the most difficult to read fonts of any Magic cards out there, even giving the font from the Sans Mercy drop a run for its money (see "Spring Superdrop 2024 "). Once one gets past the mismatched fonts on each card, fans can appreciate the stellar illustrations done by the Los Angeles–based collective of global artists and designers known as Brain Dead.

The following sets are offered as part of the Summer Superdrop 2024:

  • Secret Lair x Monty Python and The Holy Grail: Vol. 1 (MSRP $29.99; Traditional Foil $39.99): The first of two Monty Python set comes with a Prodigal Sorcerer as "Tim the Enchanter," a Buried Alive as "Bring Out Your Dead!," a Dismember as "'Tis But a Scratch!," a double-sided Birds of Paradise as "African Swallow" // "European Swallow," and a Three Visits as "We Want … A SHRUBBERY!"
