The five finalists for this year's award were all worthy of the coveted DJA Award in their own way (see "Finalists"). However, one nominee stuck out over the rest as far as the major contributionsthey made to the games industry, the United Paizo Workers. This group won the award for their efforts in drawing the public's attention to the various challenges workers in the games industry face in earning a living wage. The union also made significant headway in making unionization and worker collective bargaining a reality the games industry (see "Paizo Employees Form Union").
