Marvel Comics will release a series of six stand-alone stories pairing unlikely duos written by J. Michael Straczynski, beginning in January, the company announced.  The six one-shots will feature art by six different artists.

In the first issue, Doctor Doom & Rocket Raccoon #1, Doom asks Rocket Raccoon for a favor; and in the second, Captain America & Volstagg #1, Volstagg turns to Cap when war breaks out in the Nine Realms.

The six comics and their creative teams are:

Doctor Doom & Rocket Raccoon #1, with art by Will Robson, cover by Gary Frank, and promo variant cover by Leinil Francis Yu, goes on sale January 22.

Captain America & Volstagg #1, with art by Bernard Chang and cover by Terry Dodson, goes on sale February 26.

Nick Fury Vs. Fin Fang Foom #1, with art by Elena Casagrande and cover by Gary Frank, goes on sale in March.

Hulk & Doctor Strange #1, with art by German Peralta and cover by Terry Dodson, goes on sale in May.

Ghost Rider vs. Galactus #1, with art by Juan Ferreyra and cover by Terry Dodson, goes on sale in June.

Spider-Man vs. Doctor Octopus #1, with art by Phil Noto and cover by Terry Dodson, goes on sale in June.
