Canadian software company Valsoft has acquired book industry platform Edelweiss, the companies announced. The platform provides retailers with a massive database of book-format titles, with complete info including sales and marketing details, review copies, and access to reviews, among other services.
Valsoft specializes in the acquisition and development of vertical market software businesses, using a buy, hold, and develop strategy. Edelweiss management will remain in place. Valsoft plans to grow Edelweiss in the U.S. and to expand internationally. This is Valsoft's first acquisition in the book business.
No acquisition price was announced.
