Renegade Game Studios will release Naishi, a card game of the Japanese imperial court by French publisher Merle Editions, in the U.S. this summer. In this strategy hand-management card game, players score points by each character's scoring ability and their position in their tableau. They develop their territory by obtaining structures and influential characters to grow their prestige, without reorganizing their cards. They can send emissaries to the imperial court to trade card positions or force an exchange.
The box includes 16 Mountain Cards, 34 Development Cards, 1 Imperial Court Board, 4 Emissary Tokens, 1 First Player Marker, 4 Player Aids, scorepad and rulebook.
Naishi is for two players ages 14 and up, and plays in 20 minutes. It's designed by Mathieu Bieri and Alex Fortineau, with art by Marine Losekoot. It will be released in the U.S. in August at $20 MSRP.
