Comic creator Rob Liefeld is ending his 30-year relationship with Marvel Comics, citing hard feelings around his involvement in last year’s Deadpool & Wolverine blockbuster. He explained his reasons in a 90-minute episode of the podcast and an interview in The Hollywood Reporter.
Among the issues Liefeld raised were Marvel's unwillingness to credit creators of the comic characters in the movie at the beginning, rather than at the end; the reduction in his involvement in test screenings and marketing meetings compared to the Fox Deadpool films; and the fact that he wasn’t invited to the film premiere after-party, which he had previously attended.
The final issue of what lliefeld called his "final" Deadpool story (see "Liefeld on his ‘Final’ Deadpool Story"), Deadpool Team-Up #5, will be released next week.
